Second International Symposium of the Marxism and Sciences journal: Marxism in the Science Towards an International Critical Knowledge Network

The Marxism and Sciences journal held its Second International Symposium between september 1–6 in collaboration with tranzit .ro/cluj With participants from across the globe, the symposium brought together scientists, philosophers, academics, educators, researchers and students to facilitate the formation of an international knowledge network that addresses contemporary problems, connects global academic and artistic research with local grassroots activism, all the while giving special attention to the fragmentation of scientific fields, which hinders efforts to effectively conceptualise the present.

The Symposium gave an opportunity for a lively exchange of ideas and perspectives. From the problems posed by logical positivism to scientific thought, through the ways Marxists have conceptualised the sciences and their relation to society, to the challenges of contemporary fascism, participants discussed many topics, contributing with their specific areas of expertise to a pluralistic and complex picture of a global polycrisis. Editors of the Marxism & Sciences journal also invited participants to collectively conceptualise the journal’s profile and to contribute to thinking about how best to carry through its mission.
