In March, as part of the Open Call for Free Workshops Facilities program offered by hypha_etc, AStA’s (Asociatia Studentilor Arhitect din Cluj) team took time off with newly joined volunteers (and currently active ones) to get to know each other better through the event called Build and Buzz: Creative synergy. During the weekend’s activities, participants aimed to strengthen the community and get a better grasp on how to interact with each other as a team in order to create meaningful projects related to students’ representation.
In addition, all the 55 participants were engaged in two brainstorming sessions:
Architecture Camps: the first brainstorming session, drawing inspiration from hypha_etc’s past activities, challenged the volunteers to think and organise camps that can take place on the host’s accommodation that bring together architecture students and other universities that work in domains deeply connected to architecture (such as landscaping, design, theatre, photography, theory, etc).
Crisis averted: The second brainstorming session proposed for each team two separate scenarios, a more general problem and a crisis situation that can arise during organisational tasks regarding events/projects. This particular session aimed to develop crisis management skills and to familiarise new volunteers with the inner-workings of each department of the association and how to manage in case of an unexpected emergency.
